Map of the Month: Historic Districts & Landmarks

The Elmwood Village Association’s August Map of the Month shows historic districts and landmarks in and around the Elmwood Village neighborhood. The map uses data provided by the City of Buffalo through OpenData Buffalo along with date from the National Register of Historic Places.

The Elmwood Village Association’s mission is to encourage a balance of growth and preservation, to support community-led projects and to promote an inclusive neighborhood for people to live, work, visit and prosper.

The Elmwood Village has significant historic assets. (See full size map).

In September, the Elmwood Village Association will host Preservation Buffalo Niagara for a Historic Tax Credit Workshop on Wednesday, September 11th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Elmwood Village Association office, 875 Elmwood Avenue in the basement of the historic Lafayette Avenue Presbyterian Church.

Further, the Elmwood Village Association’s 2018 Strategic Plan identifies Public Space & Play and Community Engagement as priority areas with initiatives focused on encouraging use of public space along Elmwood Avenue, promoting the Elmwood Village as the City of Buffalo’s garden district, and strengthening relationships with stakeholders.
