The Elmwood Village Association would like to welcome visitors from throughout the region, including our Canadian visitors from just over the border. We are so proud of our vibrant, dynamic community in the heart of the City of Buffalo. The Elmwood Village was designated one of America’s 10 Best Neighborhoods by the American Planning Association … and we’d love to show you why!
For starters, the Elmwood Village is home to some of Buffalo’s most vibrant shopping with dozens of boutiques each with their own unique style. Many of the stores feature products by local designers a quality that contributes to the uniqueness of the Buffalo shopping scene. The fun doesn’t stop with shopping. The Elmwood Village is also home to numerous restaurants and cafes, each with its own distinct environment and flavor. From international cuisine — Mexican, Greek, Italian, Thai, Japanese, Chinese — to hearty American favorites–charcoal-grilled hotdogs, steaks, burgers, Buffalo wings and more — Elmwood has a dish to satisfy any craving, and any diet or lifestyle! Many of the Elmwood Village’s cafes and restaurants use fresh ingredients from local farms giving you access to many of the specialties of Western New York.
Beyond shopping and dining, the Elmwood Village has a unique cultural identity bolstered by the many cultural attractions to be found surrounding the village and within its boundaries. On the northern fringes of the Elmwood Village, you can find the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Burchfield Penney Art Center, and the beautiful green space of Delaware Park, designed by Frederick Law Olmsted. Bidwell Parkway cuts through Elmwood Avenue in the heart of the village providing space for outdoor recreation and events, like the Elmwood Village Association’s free Summer Concert Series. In the Summer, Elmwood Avenue plays host to a range of events, festivals, and activities that you won’t want to miss. View our Events Calendar to see what’s coming up!
