Ashley Smith   |   Executive Director   |

Ashley Smith is an analyst and planning consultant with experience in community planning, policy analysis, and nonprofit management. She believes in the power of informed collaboration to produce meaningful change from the grassroots level. As a planner, Ashley focuses on infrastructure finance and transportation policy, composing Complete Streets Policy Guides and reports for municipalities in the Western and Central New York regions and co-authoring the NYU Rudin Center for Transportation Policy and Management report “Intelligent Paratransit” in 2016.
Ashley holds a B.A. in English from the University at Buffalo, where she wrote her honors thesis on Ecology in modern American literature, and a Master’s in Urban Planning from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. Ashley received an AIANY Heritage Ball Award in honor of the Rudin Family in 2016.

Melissa Wood | Development Manager |

Melissa Wood is a public relations professional, with an extensive retail background. She is a Buffalo native, who recently returned to the area from Asheville, NC. While in NC, Melissa worked with a variety of nonprofits organizations, assisting with event planning and public relations campaigns. Her passions include cooking, connecting with people and exploring the rich history of our city.
Melissa holds a B.A. in Journalism & Mass Communication and a B.A. in History from St. Bonaventure University. Currently, Melissa is working to receive her Master’s in Strategic Public Relations from George Washington University.
